FACTORS IN COMPRESSOR STATION DESIGN

This 2 ½ day workshop will give engineers and design professionals information on how to design and integrate the various parts of a compressor station into an effective and efficient system. It will provide practical knowledge on how to design a new compressor station or evaluate the design of an existing compressor station.  This class is being hosted at the headquarters of El Paso Corp., 1001  Louisiana Street in downtown Houston.  

Course Content

Participants will receive practical instruction that will enable them to:

  • Make decisions related to the design of the main systems in a compressor station
  • Solve related problems
  • Ask the right questions when designing
  • Manage a design project for a small station
  • Choose what equipment goes with the chosen compression system
  • Lay out major interconnecting piping
  • Do calculations to size equipment
  • Consider site-specific requirements for compressor station layout.

A team of industry subject matter experts will lead the class.  A combination of lecture and hands-on, group exercises provide a valuable learning experience.  Participants are placed in small teams, using a "game board" to work on various compressor station design scenarios.

The target audience for this workshop is engineers and technical people with 0-5 years industry experience.

Event Information

  • $795 GMRC or SGA member company employee; $1095 Non-members
  • Schedule:  8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm Tuesday/Wednesday; 8:00 am. to Noon Thursday
  • Each participant will receive a comprehensive workbook, a valuable resource that will provide ongoing benefits long after the completion of the class.
